A Caroling: Joy to the World

Today is a good day.  It’s what Tolkien called the “eucatastrophe” of human history, the sudden turn of events which means we don’t come to a terrible end.  It is the beginning of hope and the foundation of faith.  Joy came to Earth, and remains possible, because of Christmas day.  No matter how dark things appear, no matter how far you feel from God, joy has come and will come again.  Believe it.  Merry Christmas!

Joy to the world! the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world! the Saviour reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

P.S.  I apologize for the visuals; this was the best I could do.  Big YouTube fail on this one.
